The Basics:

I’m working on writing Chapter 36.  October signals a new year for me and more than most, 2009 brings a new start. It’s exciting and I can’t wait to see what’s to come!

Some Things That I Like:

yoga, pottery, reading, photography, hiking, design, interiors, travel, list making, geeking on my mac, morning coffee, evening tea, movies in french, window shopping, good wine, good conversation, good books, trashy gossip blogs, magazines, concerts, weather events, stargazing, thrifting, flea markets, ballet flats, designer handbags, peonies, bookstores, road trips, dancing, sequins, cafes, a good gin and tonic, people watching, porch sitting, blogging, horseback riding, pool lounging, girl talk, boy talk, and high adventure

What I Read:

Lots of Magazines:  Elle and Elle Decor, Lonny, Vanity Fair, Lucky, Coastal Living, National Geographic, Living Etc., Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, House Beautiful, Canadian House & Home, The New Yorker, and for when I get nostalgic, Southern Living.

Books:  smart fiction, trashy brain candy novels, literature and classics, sometimes self-help, sometimes fantasy and science fiction.  A few authors I like are Julia Glass, Nicholas Christopher, Adah Souief, David Schickler, David Sedaris.

Blogs:  More and more with the demise of my two favorite glossies (RIP Domino and Cottage Living) .  Check out my links to the right for a curated list.

What I Listen To:

Usually an iTunes shuffle of some sort, but here are some favorites:  Coldplay, I Am X, BitterSweet, Beto Villares, Jem, Baxter, M.I.A., Sarah Harmer, Mozilla, Jack Johnson, Sea Wolf, The Raconteurs, Vampire Weekend, Maroon 5, Hotel Costes mixes and other chill/lounge tunes, 80’s classics, music you can shag to, and if I’m working out, hip hop and rap.

What I Watch:

I don’t watch TV all that often, but when I do you’ll find LOST and True Blood in heavy rotation on the DVR.  Sometimes HGTV randomness, the Weather Channel, science and history shows, along with some trash such as The Rachel Zoe Project and the Kardashians (i know, terrible).  And while it lasts, Man Shops Globe.

Where I’ve Traveled:

All over the US, favourites include Portland, OR and New York, NY.  Pretty partial to Charleston and Savannah.  And of course, NC.

England, Scotland, France, Spain, Morocco, South Africa, Thailand, Nepal, Cayman Islands, St. Martin, Mexico, Canada.

Where I Want To Go:

Everywhere else.  But first,  I want the dollar to improve.  And most likely, it will be warm.

Buenos Aries has been at the top of the list for a while. Also St. Barth’s, Montreal, New Orleans, Santa Fe, Los Angeles, Napa Valley, Alaska (so I can look at Russia, of course!), Mongolia, Vietnam, Berlin.  Seriously, there are too many places.

Where I Work:

Formerly in publishing.  In the lovely world of DC politics.  Now, I work in marketing.  I am a much happier girl by far.
